Services and
facilities
Bob-O-Link golfers
tell us how much they appreciate a golf course that is short
and interesting. Below are some of the services that
make Bob-O-Link a complete golf course:
Driving
range
The 25-stall driving range provides opportunities for you
to improve your drives and longer chip shots. Flags
spaced across the range give you a good sense of how your
stroke is connecting. You can watch other golfers practice
their swings and pick up a point or two. The buckets
of balls last longer than you would think - jumbo baskets
hold about 100 balls; the large baskets hold about 70 balls,
and the small baskets hold around 30 balls. The driving
range is lit up at night until 11:00 PM usually. You can bring
your own clubs or rent some from the Pro Shop for a nominal
fee.
Putting green
If you are waiting your turn in the bag line, you are welcome
to practice your putting on our practice green. It is
a real green and the holes are moved regularly to keep the
green in good shape. It is courteous to bring several
balls to the practice green and aim all the balls for the
same hole. Please avoid crossing another player's putting
zone. A chipping green is also available to use with permission
of the golf instructor or counter staff.
Par three golfing
All the holes at Bob-O-Link are Par 3, meaning that experienced
golfers can reach the cup every time in three strokes from
the tee. The shorter hole distances are perfect for
seniors, young golfers, and players who do not feel very confident.
In a way, it helps golfers of all skills to enjoy a game together.
The entire course is usually played with the higher-numbered
iron clubs (5 - 9), with no drivers or wood clubs necessary.
Some golfers only bring a 5 iron, a 9 iron, and a putter to
play the entire course.
Hazards
Golf is a game of avoiding hazards, so Bob-O-Link has a nice
assortment of obstacles and challenges. These include
trees, a very small stream, a larger lake, and narrower fairways.
You won't endure the embarrassment of spending an afternoon
in a sand trap or in extensive rough. The areas between
fairways are mown so balls are playable even on the fringes.
Food and drinks
The Bob-O-Link Snack Bar offers breakfast food, sandwiches,
hot dogs, soft drinks and beer, snacks, and the "Best
Milkshakes in Western New York" (Rated by listeners of
KISS 98.5 FM). To keep the course safe and secure, alcohol
on the golf course is prohibited and violators will be ejected
from the course by our patrollers.
Golfing
with kids
Bob-O-Link
is a family course and we encourage Par 3 golf as a whole-family
activity. While golfing at Bob-O-Link, you can catch
up on the time you might be missing with your busy schedules.
A round of golf at Bob-O-Link takes about two and a half hours,
depending on the number of golfers on the course. Lots
of time to laugh, chat, and make family memories!
Junior
Golfers (Age 15 years old and under)
Unless accompanied by someone 16 years of age or older, a parent or guardian must come to the Bob-O-Link clubhouse to sign-in junior golfers. All the same golf etiquette and course policies apply to junior golfers and our rangers will enforce the rules (Bobolink is private property). Youth who violate course rules will be asked to leave. Junior golfers may play after 6 pm only if accompanied by a parent or guardian over 21 years of age.
Tent parties
and short-course golf
Your organization or business can get valuable time with clients,
donors, employees, administrators, or other influential individuals
by creating a special golf outing. To keep the event
moving along, rangers and counter staff will start foursomes
on either the first or tenth holes as space is available.
Because Bob-O-Link is a great course for beginners and experienced
golfers, everyone can enjoy the day! Bob-O-Link can provide
our 40' x 20' tent and slotted starts for participants. For
an additional fee Bob-O-Link will arrange a dinner of sizzling
steaks, barbequed chicken, or other menu items to satisfy
the appetites of the players.
Hole-in-One
Contest fundraising
Call Bob-O-link at 662-4311 to arrange a Hole-In-One contest
for your charity. We have had a great time hosting these
contests since 2003!
Speed golf
Speed Golf is catchy and fast-paced! Players are scored
based on time to complete the course, plus their overall stroke
score. To be a competitive speed golfer, you need to be in
excellent physical shape and have an honest playing ethic.
Speed golfers are
only allowed early morning starting times so they are not
held up by other players on the course. The special
starting time must be arranged with the starter or counter
staff two days in advance of any speed golf tee-off. |
